Who is Jocelyn Route?
Jocelyn Route is a social worker, certified death doula, licensed foster parent, and former member of the Prince George’s County Board of Education. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside families navigating grief, transition, complex systems, and major life challenges.
Her campaign is rooted not only in professional experience, but personal experience as well. After losing her father in 2024 and her grandmother before him, Jocelyn experienced firsthand how overwhelming the administrative process following the loss of a loved one can become during a time of grief.
Those experiences shaped her belief that the Register of Wills office should lead with compassion, accessibility, and integrity.
